Is
a prescription required?
Yes, a prescription
is always required for prescription medication orders. Every prescription
must be signed and dated by your licensed American physician.
Are
generic medications a viable alternative?
Yes. Generic medications are both safe and cost effective.
Generic drugs contain the same active ingredient as the original
brand name drug. Ingredients, manufacturing processes and facilities
for generic drugs meet the same guidelines for Good Manufacturing
Practices as brand name drugs.
Who
can I speak to if I have questions about my medication?
Prescriptnet has a dedicated Customer Service team who responds
to all queries. For specific questions about your medication, a
member of our team places you in contact with the licensed pharmacist
who can assist you with any questions you may have.
Are
there limits to the amount of medication I can receive?
Our partner pharmacies typically ship a 90-day supply of medication,
although the amount or quantity of medication available to you at
each order may be limited based on your prescription or medication

typically arrive at your home in 2-3 weeks. Prescriptnet ships your
medication within 24 hours of order completion and parcels can be
delivered in as little as 3 to 5 days.
Will
my prescriptions arrive together?
If your prescription is filled exclusively by our Canadian,
US or International partner pharmacies, it will arrive as a single
package. If you have filled your prescriptions from more than one

Why
do some medications have different names in Canada?
Each medication has a trade, or brand name registered by the manufacturer.
Manufacturers often use different names for the same drug in different
countries. Medications are chemically identical, but may look or
be packaged differently.
Why
does my medication look different?
When
you order your medication from one of our International pharmacies,
you may notice they are different than the medications you purchase
at your local pharmacy. As with the Canadian medications you order,
both provide the same treatment and have the same therapeutic effect.
Below is an explanation of the differences you may find:
Trade
Names - Some prescriptions dispensed by our International pharmacies
are marketed under a different name by the manufacturer. Pharmaceutical
companies choose to market the same drug under a different brand
name to target consumers in different countries. Despite the different
name, these are the same medications you were prescribed.
Packaging
- Some of the drugs may be dispensed differently than what you are
used to. For example, you may receive a blister package instead
of a bottle. In addition, the packaging may look different or contain
a logo. In order to appeal to different markets, the drug manufactures
will often change the "look and feel" of their product from one
country to another. Despite the different packaging, you are still
receiving the medication your doctor prescribed.
Physical Appearance -
Not all medications, even those made by the same manufacture, look
the same. For example, a yellow pill in the United States may be
manufactured as a blue tablet in Canada. The same is true for drugs
manufactured for the UK, Australia or New Zealand. Drugs received
from our partner pharmacies may be in a different color or form
than you are used to. The size and/or shape may also differ. Despite
the different physical appearance, your medication will still contain
the same active ingredient and provide the same therapeutic effect.
Why
are some prescription medications less expensive in Canada than
in the US?
Most drugs cost less in Canada due to factors that include
the unique regulatory environment governing Canada's pharmaceutical
industry. Prescription medications remain affordable in Canada due
to price controls established by the Canadian government. The Patented
Medicine Prices Review Board was established in 1987 to protect
consumer interests. Their mandate, ensuring that prices charged
by manufacturers of patented medicine are not excessive, is maintained
by strict pricing guidelines for companies selling prescription
drugs in Canada.
What
is the difference in the approval and marketing process for prescription
drugs in Canada versus the US?
The statutory requirements
for approving and marketing pharmaceutical products in the United
States and Canada are generally similar. The
Congressional Research Service issued a Memo to the Honorable Bernard
Sanders titled: "Questions Concerning the US and Canadian Regulatory
Systems for Approving and Distributing Prescription Drugs",
May 2003 discussing clinical approvals, packaging requirements and
similar topics. It can be viewed at:

Will
my medical information be kept confidential?
Your medication order and
medical information are always kept confidential;
only your physician and Prescriptnet and its doctors and pharmacists

if we have questions about your prescription or current state of
health.
Are
my credit card and payment information kept confidential?
Your credit card and payment information are kept strictly confidential.
Prescriptnet does not share this information with anyone.
Will
you accept my insurance plan?
You should contact your
insurance company to inquire whether you can be reimbursed or not.
Unfortunately, most insurance plans are not designed to accept claims
from a non-US pharmacy. If your insurer is the exception, please
forward them the receipt accompanying your prescription.
