finds heart risk with Celebrex drug

New concerns about arthritis drug Celebrex have surfaced following
a long-term study in which people taking higher dosages showed greater
risks of heart problems.

Canada issues Celebrex warning
Celebrex has been linked to increased cardiovascular risks when
taken at daily doses of 400 mg and 800 mg in a study conducted by
the US National Cancer Institute. Heath Canada advises Celebrex
should not be taken for the prevention of recurrence of Familial
Adenomatous Polyposis, and that patients on long-term 400 mg daily
doses of Celebrex should discuss alternative therapies with their
physician.

Astra-Zeneca Pharmaceuticals has included warnings in its packages
of Crestor bound for the European Union highlighting potential high-risk
patients. This follows an assessment by the FDA that certain patients
taking Crestor may be at an increased risk for serious muscle toxicity
(myopathy).

US seniors and other consumers can now access a "safe list"
of Canadian online pharmacies published by the trade association
Canadian International Pharmacy Association (CIPA). The CIPA list
